Advanced Spine & Pain Care in Culver City & Los Angeles
Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy uses high-energy magnetic fields to penetrate deep tissues, reducing inflammation and stimulating cellular repair at the molecular level.

Why Patients Choose EMTT
Magnetic fields pass through skin, muscle and fat, so energy can reach discs, nerves and joints that hands-on techniques cannot.
EMTT may help calm inflammation around irritated nerves, a common source of radiating pain, tingling and numbness.
By stimulating cellular repair, EMTT supports the body’s natural healing response in spinal discs and surrounding tissue.
No needles, injections or incisions. Treatment is delivered from outside the body at our Culver City office.
How It Works
Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT) delivers high-energy, pulsed magnetic fields to the body from the outside, which is what “extracorporeal” means. Magnetic fields pass through tissue without being absorbed, so the energy can reach deep structures such as spinal discs, nerves, joints and tendons.
At the cellular level, those fields are translated into biological signals, a process called magnetotransduction. These signals may calm inflammatory activity and encourage cells to repair tissue, which is why EMTT is used for chronic pain that is hard to reach with other methods.
At Culver Spine, EMTT sits alongside our other non-surgical options, including spinal decompression therapy, shockwave therapy and chiropractic care with acupuncture.

EMTT (Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy) is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy pulsed magnetic fields to reach deep tissue, calm inflammation and support the body’s natural cellular repair. It is delivered from outside the body, with no needles or incisions.
The magnetic pulses pass through the skin and soft tissue to the treatment area, where cells convert them into biological signals, a process called magnetotransduction. These signals may reduce inflammation, including around irritated nerves, and stimulate tissue repair.
Patients ask about EMTT for disc-related back and neck pain, nerve irritation such as sciatica, and joint or soft-tissue pain. Your provider will tell you whether EMTT fits your diagnosis after an evaluation. You can read more about disc herniation treatment and sciatica treatment at Culver Spine.
EMTT is non-invasive, so there are no needles or incisions. Your provider will explain what to expect during your first session, and you can ask them to adjust anything that feels uncomfortable.
It depends on your condition, how long you have had symptoms and your goals. After your evaluation, your provider will recommend a plan and review your progress along the way. Results vary from person to person.
Magnetic therapy may not be suitable for people with a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, or during pregnancy. Tell us about any implants, devices or medical conditions before treatment so your provider can confirm EMTT is right for you.
In many cases, yes. EMTT can be part of a broader plan that includes spinal decompression, shockwave therapy, chiropractic adjustments or acupuncture. Your provider will decide what to combine and in what order.
